Under An Even Start – National Tuition Program, parents and caregivers of eligible students are able to choose whether they would like their child to receive school-based tuition or private tuition.
Private Tuition Coordinator to manage Private Tuition
Curriculum Corporation, under contract with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, is managing the provision of tuition by the private tutor market for the program across all Australian states and territories, where parents/caregivers request that tuition be conducted by a tutor from the private sector.
All private tutors and tuition companies interested in delivering tuition under this program will need to be registered with and approved by Curriculum Corporation prior to advertising their services for this program.
The Private Tuition Coordinator is:
- ensuring effective provision of quality tuition services by tutors from the private market;
- vetting, approving and engaging private tuition companies and suitably qualified and experienced individual private tutors;
- ensuring all personnel who may come in contact with children have appropriate criminal record checks;
- where appropriate, overseeing and assisting tutors to deliver tuition; and
- monitoring, authorising and making payments to participating private tutors and tuition companies.
For more information about the roles and responsibilities of the Private Tuition Coordinator, see the Program Guidelines.
